The Calendar

There are still a good 13 months of life left in our Travels with Ace calendar, and we’ve still got a few laying around, so we’ve reduced the price and are selling them for $18 while supplies last.

Shipping is free when you use this code: XE347WOOPIE2468L100O7272729BQ??!!42H

Just kidding. Shipping is free, period. And we won’t charge you for handling, either.

Also, free of charge, you get to enjoy the six or so already-passed months of 2012 that are included in the calendar, which revisits the year-long, 25,000-mile road trip Ace and I took in 2010-2011.

It’s a wall calendar, about 8 x 11 inches, printed on quality stock, made in America (I’m pretty sure) and made of America. The calendar recaptures some of the more memorable moments from our trip retracing the route John Steinbeck, 50 years earlier, took with his poodle in “Travels with Charley.”

Inside you will find 18 unusual slices of American life – from Maine’s magnificent coast to Salvation Mountain in California, from John Steinbeck’s grave in Salinas to the Coonhound Cemetery in Alabama, from standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona to a gentlemen’s club in Dallas where Ace got some stage time. Not to mention spotting dogs in the kudzu in Mississippi and other points south.

If you’d like your calendar signed — by me, not Ace — specify that in the memo field when ordering.

Here’s where you can learn more about Travels with Ace.

Half of all profits — though, with the discount, that’s only about $2 per calendar — go to Rolling Dog Farm in New Hampshire, another one of the stops on our journey.

Here, again, is that button you can click to order the calendar:

Hello. My Boston Terrier met Ace, in Winston Salem NC. We owned a gold shop/ gift & jewelry store. We had to close it because we had no business. But you met Betty.

Betty passed away this week. She was 15 years old. The light and pure love of my life. My baby had a brain tumor. She went very quickly and did not live suffering. I want to know if Betty is in this calender.

    Thank You.

Lisa (forever missing my baby Betty)
